• Wouxun KG-UVD1P

I have just purchased one of these Wouxun KG-UVD1P radios from a well known auction site, complete with programming cable, software & also an extra 7.4volt 1700mAh battery. All for under £80. Radio works very well indeed, TX Audio as standard is a little low & needed turning up from inside the radio via the modulation variable pot. RX audio is stunning & gives out a very clear crisp sound even when wound right the way up to maximum volume. Programming cable is a must for these little radios, makes programming a real breeze, as the radios menu is a little complex when it comes to storing channels manually. (Windows 7 Ultimate,USB programming cable,KG-UVD1P v2.0 software, com port 6) was used to program mine up & it all went along flawless hassle free. Mine covers 118mHz right upto 599mHz & also has a built in digital FM radio. Since changing the TX audio settings from inside the radio i have had nothing but outstanding audio reports & very often asked if i am really using the Wouxun KG-UVD1P or my Icom706. A stunning little radio with loads of features, 2 of them being audible menu for impaired vision users & also a white LED torch that is very bright indeed. Radio power is 1watt/5watts VHF & 1watt/4watts UHF. I would rate this radio right up there with the "BIGBOYS" of the handheld radio world. Here in Swindon wiltshire we have about 14 active users that use the CH8 PMR frequencie: 446.09375Mhz Verdict: A great all round radio & i will be buying another 2 maybe 4 in the ...
