Just few tips like buy atleast 3 batteries which should be enought to film a whole event or even film set for a whole day. Havent had to change more than 3 times on a film set yet even while filming a whole day. Also I have used 3rd party batteries on different models and have to say I never had any problems with them and they work very well. And now found that you can get them extreme cheap from Hong Kong on ebay and are basically the same as 3rd parties that you can buy in stores but at Ebay it is way cheaper but you have to wait longer for them but its worth the wait and save your self allot of money.

3:55 Skip to overview of the actual grip 9:25 Skip to LCD Controls In this review I will go over the features of the Meike battery hand grip, this features two trays, one which holds two LP-E8 batteries and a backup that holds six AA batteries. This model has a LCD screen on it with built in intervalometer, infrared remote sensor, as well as date and time functions. This unit fits both the Canon T2i 550D and T3i 600D, I suspect that the new Canon T4i will also be compatible with this hand grip. It is made out of quality matte finished plastic and has textured rubber grip similar to that of the camera itself. It also has a strap mount on the lower right which will enable you to install a hand strap which would be great for anyone who does a lot of handheld shooting. I think this is possibly the best addition I have bought so far for my camera and relatively cheap. Note: This ebay store has increased the buy it now pricing since I bought my grip, shop around to get the best price. I paid under $50 dollars for mine.
