I bought this Metz 44 AF-1 because I needed a simple flash to use in TTL mode primarily and for my manual off-camera photography. It does not have an LCD screen but is simple to use. Sure I could have bought a 430 EXII or 580 EXII but I honestly won't use the majority of those expanded features. This is not to underscore the value of the Canon flashes. They are the top of the line in their own right.This Metz has given consistent exposures in TTL mode and even though it only has 4 manual light output increments, They are all I need at this time in point. I received the flash a few days ago and I have used it on and off-camera wonderfully!So if you want a simple, consistent, reliable flash for 1 cent less than 200, look no further!"
