Following in the footsteps of the highly acclaimed FinePix S100FS, the FinePix S200EXR is set to raise the bar further; the first 'bridge camera' to feature award-winning EXR sensor technology really sets this apart from the competition.
Our most advanced SLR-styled camera to date, it is packed with technology and boasts a 12MP Super CCD EXR sensor and a generous 14.3x optical zoom lens. Photographers will appreciate its advanced feature set and ease-of-use coupled with the versatility of both RAW and Jpeg shooting.
The FinePix S200EXR provides an all-in-one solution for photo enthusiasts and advanced amateur photographers seeking the manual controls and functionality of a DSLR without the bulk, hassle and expense of additional lenses and other accessories.
Fujifilm's EXR Sensor for unbeatable Image Quality
First featured in the compact, multi award-winning FinePix F200EXR, the revolutionary EXR sensor will make the FinePix S200EXR really stand out from the competition.
This ultimate 3-in-1 sensor can cleverly change its performance according to the scene being photographed. What's more, the user can opt for this to be intelligently managed by the camera using EXR Auto to optimise results, or alternatively can manually force the camera to behave in a particular way by selecting one of the EXR priorities:
This ultimate 3-in-1 sensor can cleverly change its performance according to the scene being photographed. What's more, the user can opt for this to be intelligently managed by the camera using EXR Auto to optimise results, or alternatively can manually force the camera to behave in a particular way by selecting one of the EXR priorities:
HR High Resolution Priority
HRimageWhen you want to achieve the maximum detail possible, and the subject doesn't demand the extra dynamic range provided by Dual Capture Technology or the class leading Signal to Noise performance of Pixel Fusion Technology, Super CCD EXR can be used in HR mode to capture full twelve megapixel images with breathtaking levels of fine detail.
SN Signal to Noise Priority
HRimageBoosting sensitivity on conventional sensors has always resulted in increased noise, and efforts to control this noise have resulted in blurred images and loss of resolution when shooting in low light. To combat this EXR 'couples' same colour pixels together to create larger, giant pixels that can record more detail in low light and limit noise.
DR Dynamic Range Priority
HRimage If you have ever seen a pale blue sky turn white in a photograph then you have experienced one of the biggest problems facing all compact digital cameras: limited dynamic range.
Super CCD EXR uses Dual Capture Technology to simultaneously capture two images of the same scene: one taken at high sensitivity and the other at low sensitivity. It then merges the two images to generate a photo with increased (up to 800% higher) Dynamic Range. This broadened tonal capability ensures exceptional rendition of photos with both bright highlights and dark shadows.
EXR Auto Logo Whatever the subject, whatever the conditions EXR Auto guarantees stunning photos every time. With six pre-set scene modes of the most popular subjects; Landscape, Portrait, Macro, Night, Night Portrait, Backlit Portrait: EXR Auto automatically detects the scene and not only optimises the focus, exposure and white balance but chooses the optimum EXR mode, too. Taking great photos couldn't get any easier.
Zoom in for the ultimate creativity
The 14.3x zoom lens provides a huge amount of flexibility for a wide range of photographic subjects without the expense or hassle of carrying around extra lenses. With a manual barrel zoom, the S200EXR offers fingertip precision image framing as well as a user experience that closely matches that of a Digital SLR.
It's all about the lens
It's all about the lens The FinePix S200EXR sports a custom-designed ultrahigh precision Fujinon lens. Its unique optical design allows the zoom to achieve maximum resolution at all focal lengths of 30.5mm-436mm equivalent and maximum aperture of a bright F2.8 (wide angle) to F5.3 (telephoto). Because of the composite body and lens structure, there is no penetration of dirt and dust onto the CCD and the lens is perfectly matched to the sensor and perfectly aligned for the best possible results. The expansive zoom range covers everything from wide angle to extreme telephoto, with the added versatility of a 1cm Super Macro mode and lens-shift image stabilisation to keep things sharp by reducing the effects of camera shake by up to three stops.
High precision Fujinon lens
Renowned for their high resolution and optical excellence, Fujinon lenses have earned an enviable reputation in both creative and industrial fields, including television and medical devices. The 14.3x zoom lens designed for the S200EXR is made up of 13 elements in 10 groups, and includes aspherical and low-dispersion glass elements. Together these minimise distortion and colour aberrations and maximise contrast and light gathering ability. Multi-coating technology reduces reflections and minimises ghosting and flare. The result is a class-leading lens that offers high resolution and outstanding overall optical performance throughout its entire zoom range.
Professional looking portraits at the touch of a button
With the FinePix S200EXR’s new Multi Frame features, just press the shutter once and the camera automatically takes a rapid series of exposures, analyses them, and then aligns them to produce a single frame. In the FinePix S200EXR, the Multi Frame technology plays a role in two new shooting modes; Pro Focus mode and Pro Low Light mode.
Pro Focus mode
A focus-bracketing mode that emulates the gentle, out-of-focus background look of a Digital SLR when shooting portraits or macro subjects. A single press of the shutter first takes an exposure focused on the main subject, then additional exposures at different focus points. This produces a final image emphasising a sharply focused subject against a soft, out-of-focus background.
Pro Lowlight Mode
Perfect for shooting stationary subjects in poorly illuminated conditions. Pro Low light mode uses EXR technology to take a series of four high sensitivity/low-noise shots in quick succession; these are then merged into an image with less noise than the single exposures. The result is a new level of image clarity at high ISO levels.
