Test video from my new Nikon D5000 18-55 VR Kit - AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G, CMOS sensor, 23.6 x 15.8 mm; total pixels: 12.9 million. This video has not been re-processed in any way, ie uploaded straight off the memory card. Please note, this video is purely a test only. I will not be using the D5000 to create my future videos. The Canon Camcorder is there for that!

AF-S DX 18-55 mm VR.Die Bilder wurden im Autokatikmodus,Landschafts und Makro Modus fotografiert. Wollte den Neueinsteigern mal demonstrieren was für tolle Bilder möglich sind ohne irgendwelche Erfahrungen im Bereich DSLR. Natürlich ist da noch viel mehr möglich wenn man sich mit den vielen anderen Funktionen vertraut gemacht hat und eventuell noch ein anderes besseres Objektiv benutzt. Ps:Kann sein das die Bilder hier noch so gestochen scharf wirken das sie in Bewegung sind.Auf dem PC oder einen einem Full HD Fernseher sehen sie wirklich beeindruckend aus. I did consider the option of the D3100 and spending the change on more kit. In the end I went to aa shop and purchased a D3100 as I wanted to pick up the camera and the cost worked out the same as an online purchase - i like some customer service ;-) After a couple of days with the camera (which is brilliant) I decided that the D5100 was more suited due to;a/ the swivel screen as I use it on a tripod for portraits and it was difficult using the fixed screenb/ the better low light sensitivity as I use the camera inside a lotc/ the mic input for the video is a must to eliminate the focus noise.I am using this camera on manuel mode all the time now and have spent the past month immersing myself in the DSLR and the internet offers some amazing resources for budding photographers. All in all I am very happy with this camera, I added the amazing 50mm, f1.4g prime lens which is perfect for inside portrait use and sucks in all the light - in fact I use the prime lens almost exclusively and keep the kit 18 - 55 lens as a back.I am no expert but am enjoying this camera so much more than the compact cameras I have owned in the past (all of which are very impressive) and find that the creative input I now have have raised my expectations and understanding of photography - I highly recommend making the jump to DSLR and would <b>...</b>

Nikon D5100 Video Test. 18-55 kit lens
The clicking sounds are the autofocus. Had to be converted to smaller file with Any Video Converter, and only have MS Movie maker, so its basic. Somewhat choppy. Bought this cam for the image quality, and had hoped that it would make better video.. Need to buy the remote mic (159.00CD$), so it will be better. Af hunts a bit and focus ring is at the edge, so you'll see my finger.. Next time I'll try 60 fps and see if its smoother...

Just a few of the first images from this evening. Viewing in 720 fullscreen all seems to be headed in the right direction. In our estimation, the camera and lens have been doing their job, and we shall try to match it. Been storming fiercely here, lost power a few times. Yeah, no music no nothing, just want to focus on the imagery from this latest release from NIkon, the D5100 This video features some of the knives we were photographing with the kit lens, AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G. A bushcraft knife and sheath, Kershaw Whirlwind, a small EKA folder, and a CRKT were happy subjects. So far we like the handling of the D5100. Perhaps a little small in my hands, but Jared is very comfortable with it. The lighting was moderate, no flash, and I did crop a few images in Photoshop, with no other adjustments. Oh, this is also our first video in higher resolution. Don't worry, I'll be taking them into better production sofware, too(Could be I am a bit lazy at times ;). Please visit www.usframecrew.com
