    Pentax has announced the latest member of its DSLR line-up, the K-5. The new model is based on the Japanese manufacturer's current flagship DSLR, the K-7. Body design and control layout are identical but the K-5 comes with a new 16.3 megapixel CMOS sensor, faster continuous shooting and a very high maximum sensitivity of ISO 51200 (the highest in an APS-C camera so far).

    Received my brand new Pentax K-5 recently and here's a sped up unboxing that sounds like I inhaled a lot of helium - Mijonju style!! Such a nice solid little DSLR. Love everything about it.     Testing out the video on my Pentax K-5. My colleague Rui just happened to be playing the office acoustic at the time and I thought I'd take advantage of it and shoot a few shots. I used an old Pentax M-50mm 1.7 manual focus lens and the In-Body Stabilization worked like a charm Sound was recorded on an iphone and video was mistakenly recorded at 720p @ 30fps I'll try and shoot a 1080p @ 25fps example soon PLEASE PENTAX!! FIRMWARE UPGRADE TO 24p and Manual controls would be so awesome!! PRETTY PLEASE??

    Digiscoping... baby steps. Attempt to film a peregrine falcon, sitting in a powerline support mast about 750 meters (half a mile) away. Pentax K-5 on a Praktica 20-60 x 77 spotting scope fitted with a generic DSLR-body-to-eyepiece adapter. Scope at maximal magnification. Focusing horribly difficult, but at least it seems to work.
