Today I received my brand new Pentax Optio WG-1 in the mail. This was purchased from Amazon. I didn't see any unboxing videos online so I decided to make one for you guys so you have an idea of what to expect in the box. This is not a review this is just so you have a look inside the box. If you guys want me to do a review or put up more videos on the picture and video quality, message me below. Hope this gives helps you make a decision whether to get this camera or not. Nun die erste Kompakte von Pentax, angeschafft speziell für den "Outdoor"-Gebrauch auf Bergtouren, Skitouren und beim Schnorcheln. Kann eine einzige Kamera das alles leisten, unter allen diesen Umständen gut zu funktionieren? Zum Schnorcheln ist es leider zu kalt, so dass der Gebrauch unter Wasser wohl erst im kommenden Jahr möglich sein wird. Die ersten Bergtouren hat die Kamera mit Bravour gemeistert: Robust, leicht zu bedienen, gut ablesbares Display, GPS-Funktion - Klasse! I could not find the right deal at the time to buy the particular items i wanted together. Bought the GPS version and also wanted the green colour which i think looks great. A 16 gig card will hold thousands of photographs at maximum resolution or a couple of hours of video at 1280x720, do not buy cheap sd cards as they will take a long time to store a 14mpixel photo, and will not work well with HD video. At 14mpixel the photos are usually between 3.5 and 4.5 megabytes each photo. The Transcend 16gig class10 work well, but if you can afford it, get the Sandisk 16GB Extreme class10 SD.Picture quality is good but i found that green colours tend to look a little brighter in the photograph than they were in real life, which is not such a bad thing as they can make outdoor photos a bit more vibrant.I did use the camera down an underground cenote (sinkhole in limestone rock) swimming in fresh water, also used it to take photographs on a sea bed walk while wearing a diving helmet, at about 12 to 15 feet deep, and while underwater changed camera function to underwater video and got some good footage of the tropical fish and the stingrays upclose. It was intended to be a supplemental camera to my existing compact digital, but the performance and versatility of this unit quickly made it my replacement. It's got a ton of different shooting options that I wasn't even aware of. The panorama function is pretty cool, it stitches 3 consecutive shots together horizontally to make one big panorama. The video capabilities are also very impressive, shooting in 1080p HD that will upload to YouTube and play back at the same resolution for easy video sharing. I got the waterproof camera specifically to protect it from splashes during the rafting trip, but I've since had it in swimming pools and the underwater video quality is simply amazing.My local camera store only carried the GPS enabled version in the black and orange colors, which I initially balked at thinking this was going to be a gaudy safety orange camera.
