  • Bower 55MM HT55 Tulip Lens Hood Look/Review

A video on a Bower HT55 Tulip Lens Hood So picked this up from Fry's for $8.99 and a little bit more after tax for my Sony A500. It seems to be a fine product for the price and quality. The construction is pretty solid and nice. The price is average but I would expect it to be a little bit lower. Of course OEM lens hoods would cost more than at least $15 and could be up to $60 or higher. You can't really attach anything else to it after you mount this hood on (UV Lens, Lens Cap ETC...) so that's a little bit of a disappointment. It seems to be in the pictures or it casts shadows sometimes when fully zoomed out. So for the price and quality I would somewhat recommend it. Last thing the Style looks alright but not great. I would buy a Sony Lens Hood but the price is somewhat out of my range for that item. Purpose of Lens Hood is to prevent or reduce Flares in images. So if you got any questions or comments please feel free to let me know. Thanks For Watching!

  • Polaroid Fader ND vs Light Craft workshop Fader ND Mark II - DSLR FILM NOOB

www.dslrfilmnoob.com Fader ND filters are very handy when shooting in direct sunlight. The prices for fader ND filters also cover a wide range from this polaroid filter ($40) on the low end to the Singh-Ray ($350) filters on the higher end. The Light Craft workshop used in this video falls somewhere in the middle, at a price of $125 it is considered by many to be a very good mid range ND filter. But is it really worth it to spend an extra $85 on the Light Craft filter? Or will you be just as happy using a cheaper Fader ND filter? Watch the clips and decide for your self. The difference wasn't nearly as dramatic as I would have expected in video mode. If you're a professional with professional budget you'll probably still want to spend the money and get the best, but if you're on a tight budget, I could see many people being very happy with the performance that the lower end Polaroid filter has to offer. You can pick up the polaroid Fader ND for around $40 depending on your filter size: www.amazon.com And the LightCraft Fader ND for around $80 to $125 depending on your filter size: www.amazon.com The song playing in the back ground is written and recorded by me and is called "the Blob". • Anamorphic Lens Shots - Before & After

Before and After shots using a Canon 5D Mark II, Nikon 100mm f2.8 lens and various 2x Anamorphic Lens attachments. Kowa 2x Anamorphic Lens Isco 2x Anamorphic Lens Nothing special or scientific here. We were recently asked by a few people "Whats the difference in shooting anamorphic or not". In some shots the difference is obvious, in other shots...not so much. Obviously the flares are a big difference, but it also has an overall look and feel that is a bit softer (which is a plus when dealing with these super sharp DSLRs like the 5D Mark II). The other big characteristic, that we've seen our entire lives in hollywood movies that use Anamorphics, is the oblong or oval bokeh. More before and after shots on the way!
