A review video for B+W Kaesemann CPL Filter. The filter is rotated over 360 degrees. Varying reflection intensity on a shiny laptop keyboard can been seen. Note that at certain orientation of the polarizer, the reflection intensity is higher than what would be seen without a polarizer. Canon T2i/550D, EF 135mm F/2L.
www.beachcamera.com Hoya Multi Coated UV Filters absorb the ultraviolet rays which often makes outdoor photographs hazy and indistinct. These popular filters are renowned for their ability to minimise reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare and ghosting. The result is an average light transmission of over 97 percent, giving sharp contrast and well balanced color. HOYA HMC filters are recommended for enhancing the performance of today's multicoated lenses. They may also serve as a permanent lens protector.

www.chadsorianophotoblog.com A 1080p video shot with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and a Canon EOS 60D at 29.97fps. Edited with iMovie'09 and used Quicktime at best quality to compress a 300mb H264 video file. The Canon EOS 1D Mark IV was paired with the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens. The Canon EOS 60D was paired with the Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS lens. A 77mm Fader ND Mark II Variable Neutral Density Filter by Fader was attached to the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens for this video test and review. See a more detailed review on the link above. www.chadsorianophotoblog.com
Some random video clips shot with the 77mm Singh-Ray Vari-ND (variable neutral density) filter on a Canon 5D Mark II with the Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS II. Definitely need to get a follow focus and a Z-Finder or field monitor.
This was just under $14 on Amazon. I didn't see any information on it anywhere, so I put up some test footage. I'm basically just going from the MIN and turning to where it isnt over exposed. Its a good way to maintain a given shutter speed, aperture and ISO. I also have a knockoff Hoya Pro 1 UV filter in between the camera and nd filter. I know, spend $$$$ on a camera and $$$ on a lens, then $ on everything else. But I need to experiment to see what I really need, and can always upgrade to better stuff later. The video is kinda shaky, as I started the video 7 miles into my hike, and the bugs started attacking me. Too tired to break out the monopod. Removed audio as its either just wind, bugs zipping around, or me cursing at said bugs. Using YT music to bypass the copyright hassle. Until I'm better at filming, this ND filter is good enough, especially for the $$. The best accessory I have for the 60D, aside from the 3" Carry Speed LCD View Finder. Variable ND filter from Heliopan. Sony FS100, Tokina 11-16 f2.8.
Today I demonstrate how to put a B+W UV / IR cut filter (77mm) onto my Canon 24-105 F4 L IS USM lens. Although I used my lens, the same procedure is for all diameter front-on lenses. Screw them in. A UV / IR filter helps to reduce interruptions due to UV and IR interference, and can be left on as a normal "protective" filter as well. I personally recommend either B+W or Heliopan as their quality controls are the strictest of the filter manufacturers

Video capture with an HDSLR can be tricky with day exteriors, even when the camera is rated at 200 or 320 ISO. The Schneider True-Match Variable Density Filter system offers a quick way to get exposure into a workable zone. Aesthetically, the unit allows directors and DP's to maintain a level of exposure that takes advantage of the larger sensor area of the HDSLR by keeping the f-stop low and the depth of focus shallow, thus delivering a more filmic look. B+W 11- ND 10 Stop Filter, black glass filter, 67mm being opened
B+W Filter 77mm UV-Filter Haze Professional. Very high quality and heavy, Made in Germany.
Unhappy with a Tiffen variable ND filter due to softness, I purchased the Genus Fader ND and performed a test with the Sony FS100 and 18-200mm kit lens. The FS100 was placed on fully automatic settings with picture profile off. I tried several comparisons with and without the Genus filter at various focal lengths. The Genus filter is 77mm and I used a Promaster 67-77mm step-up ring. The footage was aligned within After Effects CS5 and was not corrected in any way. The project file was then imported to Premiere Pro. While I can observe some softness at all focal lengths on the original footage from the camera, when it is rendered out it seems to becomes less obvious. This is a short test of the new Tiffen Variable Neutral Density Filter. The filter screws on the front of a camera lens like any other filter and provides from +2 to +8 stops of neutral density. I made this video for Budget Video Rentals and they have these filters in stock. Not only is this a great filter for shooting stills in bright sunlight, its also great if you are shooting HD video with a DSLR as you don't need a matte box.
