Questions? Go here: www.youtube.com Explanation on understanding the benefits of ultraviolet (UV) glass filters. We do NOT recommend those unlisted brands: Bower, Canon, Fujiyama, Hitech, Kenko, Marumi, Polaroid, and Sigma.
www.beachcamera.com Hoya Multi Coated UV Filters absorb the ultraviolet rays which often makes outdoor photographs hazy and indistinct. These popular filters are renowned for their ability to minimise reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare and ghosting. The result is an average light transmission of over 97 percent, giving sharp contrast and well balanced color. HOYA HMC filters are recommended for enhancing the performance of today's multicoated lenses. They may also serve as a permanent lens protector.
My first 1080p video! This is a test of the Hoya 77mm Circular Polarizing filter (wideangle version). As you can see it gets rid of reflections and darkens skies...which is all you can ask for from a polarizer, really. I almost never shoot outside without one on my camera (inside they are, of course, useless, and serve only to darken your picture). Camera: Canon 60D Lens: Canon 17-55mm f2.8 IS

I was pointing straight into the direction of the sun with low cloud and some blue bits of sky, so please forgive some unavoidable flare. I had a nice cool north westerly breeze on my back which the audio does pick up along with some road noise from cars passing close behind me and the locals who came out to watch another great 1 star Severn Bore.

Back ground sound from passing vehicles on the A48 Nr Minsterworth and wind noise are fairly audible at this location. I was also stood close to some cows and a busy farm behind me with a tractor moving animal feed. The Severn Bore seems to creep silently along at this location, but its should not to be underestimated. Today's Bore was rated as a 1 star.
Fast Flowing River Severn At Wainlodes After Heavy Rainfall 27th September 2012 Today the sun came out but a cool breeze still made itself felt. After the heaviest September rainfall recorded in the last 30 years in parts of Great Britain, the River Severn burst its banks again, flooding some surrounding fields. A local farmer pulled up to see how things were looking, saying he had moved his cattle to higher ground and was concerned that he was now unable to cut grass for winter feed. Life goes on as usual though: a light aircraft flies around above me; birds sing and chatter away; some local work in progress across a field; and a car comes down the lane behind me. The River Severn sparkles in the sunlight but also looks quite dangerous with the fast flowing current dragging tree branches and other objects along. Surfing The Severn Bore at Epney Nr Gloucester 19th October 2012 After a week of very strong winds and autumn high tides, the River Severn looked like glass today under a hazy sky with sun threatening to show. Water levels were quite high after some heavy rain showers. The water flow was quite noticeable with bits of tree from higher up river moving down river to meet the incoming tide & Severn Bore. Audio background sounds were courtesy of a local infant school party that suddenly turned up unannounced on an education field trip. I was kept amused by the constant chitter chatter behind me and a lasting comment as one of the surfers made his way up the bank after putting on a great display - "well done mate" Equipment Nikon D3200 Camera Nikon 18-55mm Vr lens Hoya HMC 52mm UV filter Nikon External Me-1 microphone Manfrotto 055XPROB Tripod -- Without extra weight Kingston memory card SD HC 4GB (10) Video is straight from the camera with no extra software used. This is important because CCD and CMOS sensors are extremely susceptible to UV and IR rays just outside the visible spectrum that have a very negative impact on image quality. The Hoya UV & IR Cut filter blocks both UV rays and IR rays yielding clearer and sharper pictures outdoors. This filter can reduce the effects of atmospheric haze to an even greater degree than a standard UV filter. In addition, this filter is multi-coated, which greatly reduces lens flare and ghosting, and the slim frame helps avoid vignetting on super wide angle lenses. And of course, this filter will protect your lens surface from dust, moisture and other contaminants. Key Features • Multi-coating greatly reduces lens flare and ghosting • Slim filter frame helps avoid vignetting on super wide angle lenses • Blocks both UV rays and IR rays yielding clearer and sharper pictures outdoors • Protects your lens surface from dust and scratches The Hoya UV & IR light transmission curve shows the sharp-cut nature of the filter glass and coatings as well as the consistent light transmission in the visible spectrum ...
My concerns yesterday that the A417 road to Maisemore nr Gloucester could flood today proved right. I arrived this morning to see emergency services in place. Several vehicles were carefully making their way through water which was still rising after yet more rain over night. The River Severn was unable to contain any more water. It burst its banks covering surrounding fields. * Click on Cog symbol below picture to see this Video in Full HD 1080P * Equipment Nikon D3200 Camera Nikon 18-55mm Vr lens Hoya HMC 52mm UV filter Nikon External Me-1 microphone Kingston Memory Card SD HC 4GB (10) Manfrotto 055XPROB Tripod -- Without extra weight Manfrotto 322 RC2 Joystick Settings 6.0MP HD 1080P 25.
