• Photography: Which SD card is better?

***** FACEBOOK PAGE www.facebook.com ***** So here's my first photography tutorial on which SD card you should choose for your camera. Just letting you know: - Class 0 cards do not specify performance, which includes all legacy cards prior to class specifications. - Class 2, 2 MB/s, slowest for SDHC cards. - Class 4, 4 MB/s. - Class 6, 6 MB/s. - Class 10, 10 MB/s. That's the minimum speeds. Class 4-6 is suited for most digital cameras. Class 10 is more for the DSLRs :D www.thedantay.com

  • What class of memory card should i use with my t2i/60d? - DSLR FILM NOOB

www.dslrfilmnoob.com I often get questions about memory cards. Well i've already covered Compact flash cards so lets take a look at SDHC cards. The canon t2i data rate is ruffly 45Mbits per second which is about 5.89Mbytes per second. Since class 4 cards are only designed to handle 4Mbytes a second they are probably not a good choice. Class 6 cards can handle 6Mbytes per second which is just enough to handle the video footage coming from your t2i However the price for Class 10 cards has dropped to the point that there isn't a good reason to risk using Class 6 cards. Class 10 cards can handle 10Mbytes a second which gives you plenty of head room for video recording. Plus if you plan to use the Magic lantern hack you might end up wanting to record at an even higher bit rate. So for a price difference of about $3 its worth it to spend a little extra and pick up a class 10 card. Sandisk a has the highest price Class 10 Cards on the market I would try one of the other brands like Transcend, ADATA, or PNY. 16GB Transcend card for $28: www.amazon.com Equipment used in this video: Canon 7d Canon 35mm f1.4 Zoom h1 sennheiser g2 wireless mic CPM film tools Rig Lilliput hdmi monitor

  • Integral 16GB UltimaPro SDHC Card (Class 10)

Hi! I bought this memory card for my digital camera Panasonic Lumix TZ8.

  • Ultimate Panasonic AVCHD DMC TZ10 (ZS7) Video Test

Similar to TZ7, T78, TZ6. Several short very different clips in different conditions showing how good the panasonic tz10 camera is. Massive zoom camera, video filming, high quality video. Information on recording times: Answer to how long without a SD card is not long at all. Dont count on using internal memory at all, it is very very small. As for with an SD card, there is one very important factor you need to consider, the class of the SD card. I use a 8 Gb LEXAR 133 X Professional SDHC card, it is a Class 10 card so minimum constant write speed of 20 Mb/s. I used to have a Class 6 Lexar card also 133 X and form the professional range and could record normally, but with a class 4 card i couldnt record more than 5 to 10 seconds on the maximum resolution before it just stops it and goes 'card is to slow'. So invest in a fast card, at least class 6 to ensure the camera reaches its potential. There is no exact statements on mb/s for the videos, but on AVCHD SHD (i calculated this based on my videos) one minute is around 110 Mb. So 8 Gb (what i use) is 8192 (mb) / 110 = 75, so that is 75 minutes on max resolution in AVCHD, so with 16 Gb it is 150 minutes, 32 Gb 300 minutes (5 hours then). In lowest AVCHD resolution (still HD though) it is 100 Mb for a 1minute 45 second video. so it is about 1 Mb per second, so it is around 8300 seconds for 8 Gb, so 140 minutes, 16 Gb is 280 Minutes, and 32 Gb is 560 minutes, so nearly 10 hours. So to sum up. Max resolution AVCHD, 16 Gb is ...

  • Lumix GF1 hacked manual control and 95Mbps mjpeg

After the release of the new ptools 3.4 I wanted to compare the ability to set manual aperture/shutter speed as in the case of the GH1. Also pushed the mjpeg data rate to 95mbps. For this you must usea class 10 SDHC card. The clip lengths become just 3.30 minutes for 2GB file size so a 8 GB card is full in under 15 minutes of video. This is obviously restrictive to a certain degree as class 10 cards are still expensive! The results look stable, even with the very high resolution 20mm lens in high contrast/high detail scenes. The 20mm lens has a nasty habit of constantly focus hunting so I would advise using manual focus as well. x2 digital zoom is just about usable with this set up. The mpeg table settings are Q1=300, T1 = 4 Q2=250, T2 = 4 Q3=200, T3 = 4 Q4=188, T3 = 4

  • Early 2011 Macbook Pro will not read Sandisk Extreme Class 10 16gb SD Card

*UPDATE 28th June 2011* - Seems like the problem has been resolved with the new 10.6.8 update. It can take awhile, at least 10 seconds at times, for the card to be detected, but at least it now works! Thanks to Houdini528 for highlighting it! If you're still having problems please share so others are aware. Cheers! ----------------------------- I have this problem which is quite frustrating. I recently purchased a 15 inch 2011 MBP 2.2ghz i7 and everything's great, except for that I'd also recently bought a Sandisk 16gb Extreme SDHC Class 10 SD Card, and it can't seem to be read on the new laptop!!! It works through an external reader, it also works on older versions of MBPs and iMacs. At times, for some reason, it works on the new laptop too! I understand that the new SD Card Readers for the 2011 MBPs are wired through PCIE, unlike the older models which are wired through a USB port on the chipset...could this be affecting the problem? Apple please resolve this soon, Sandisk won't (and shouldn't) take back the card because there's nothing wrong with it. *I don't have a video here, but the card also faces the same problem on 2 other early 2011 MBPs I've tested them on, so I doubt it's just my laptop that's acting up.
