808 Car Keys Micro-Camera 720x480 .AVI eBay Version #8
This is a montage of the first footage I took with the "808 Car Keys Micro-Camera". This is version #8 according to chucklohr.com (identified by yellow date stamp on black field). I paid $10.00 for this camera on eBay with free shipping from the US. The camera was helmet-mounted with vecro for the lacrosse tossing segment. The other segments were hand-held. The field of view is generally above what you would perceive as "straight ahead", so you need to aim the camera slightly down to get a level shot that shows the lower foreground. The field of view is also slightly zoomed, so the width of the captured image in narrower than you might expect. However, this does help to prevent any subjects from appearing too distant. Also, the fixed focus seems to be very good - you can get surprisingly close to objects and still keep them in focus. Although titled in the eBay auction as "HD", the camera's video resolution (as stated in the auction) is 720x480. The video is recorded as .avi files. This video montage was edited in Window Live Movie Maker and saved as an 854x480 .wmv file. The resolution in the edited file is about the same as the raw footage, maybe just slightly less detailed. Since I selected Widescreen (1.78:1) aspect ratio in Movie Maker, the black side bars were added by the program when the .wmv file was created. The raw footage is true 720x480, which is a 1.5:1 aspect ratio. It is not possible to change the date and time through the camera, however you can edit a <b>...</b>
