There are good reasons to get this lens. The main one being the 17-55 is a constant F/2.8 aperture which lets you do SO many things including low light photography, better video, good "bokeh" (blurred backgrounds) and more. Good lens for upgrading from the 18-55 "kit" lens.

www.learningdslrvideo.com I am reviewing the Tokina 11-16mmF/2.8 Pro AT-X116DX f/Canon version lens. I am going to discuss: 1. Price, 2. Show lots of b-roll I have shot, what this lens is good for, 3. Sharpness test, 4. Speed of focus, 5. Build quality, 6. Which cameras this works well for. Price tokina-11-16I would say like to say I am not Scott Bourne, if you don't know who he is you should start listening to his podcast 'photofocus'. I don't own as many lenses as Scott does, so this review will be geared towards amateurs like myself that are on a budget. First off, wow look at all these reviews of this lens on B&H, which is a ton for a 3rd party lens! I have high expectations. Better be good at $600 which is only $75 cheaper than the price of my camera. They say you should invest in your glass and not the camera body, I hope they are right! But you really need to put this in perspective because if you wanted to buy something similar like the Canon Super Wide Angle EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM it goes for $2220! Isn't pretty much all of Tokina and some of Canon's glass all come from Hoya anyway? I know a ton of people are searching for the Tokina 11-16mm on Craigslist to find an even cheaper price. I looked in my area but no one was selling this lens, they must like it too much to give it up. Examples of What do you use it for? Check out this shoot I got on the ski slopes, before I got kicked off, I love how dramatic the distortion of a wide angle gives you. A wide angle lens ...
The original Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS was a stunningly sharp and fast lens. So how can you upgrade something that was almost perfect? We find out by taking the new 70-200mm f2.8 L IS Mark II to the street, while practicing citizen journalism along the way. Pricing Reference: www.digitalrev.com

www.robnunnphoto.com Another lens I bought from eBay a few months ago. The Canon EF 28mm f is a prime lens, which means there's no zoom, but it offers great image quality and a pretty fast (wide) aperture for a bargain price. Offering about the equivalent of a 45mm lens on a crop sensor dSLR like my 350d / Rebel XT, it's great for landscapes or portraits where you need that extra angle of view. Watch out for some barrel distortion at the edges, but overall I love this lens, and it's the one that I always leave on my camera. Cheers, Rob
even though focusing speed is not as fast as lens which has USM, the focusing speed is fast enough.
Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 Wide Angle Lens
Just got home from mountain biking (that's why I'm covered in dirt) and my lens came a day early! My friend grabbed my 5D and decided to film this while I was opening it. Good times!
I get hypnotized and enchanted like a child when I visit an aquarium. Especially if it has the world largest amazingly futuristic cylindrical fish tank: you need an elevator in order to see it all! Also the aquarium close to Aquadom is interesting and fascinating for fish watching, even if a bit pricey. Definitely worth to visit if you are in Berlin: sealifeeurope.com/local/index.php?loc=berlin I shooted the video with a Canon EOS 500D and various lenses: Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM - Canon EF 20mm f/2.8 USM - Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM - BabyLens kit High quality HD version on Vimeo: www.vimeo.com
