If you need a good all-around lens for your Canon DSLR, this may be for you. I got it with my 7D but I would get it for any Canon APS-C DSLR. It's a good lens to have in your bag. The front element does not rotate so filters are no problem.

www.learningdslrvideo.com Some of the key points: * You can't zoom in and out with this lens while shooting video because of the aperture stops that you pass through * The IS works amazingly well, almost as good as my camcorder. * It is much heavier than my 50mm prime. * I think I need an ND filter sooner outside than I do with the 50mm prime. * It makes shooting video more complex, but shooting pictures is pretty fun. * Is it a good travel lens if it is some much heavier than the 50mm prime?

Решил опробовать объектив CANON EF 28-135 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM с поляризационным фильтром Nikon 77mm Circular Polarizer II Thin Ring Multi-Coated Glass Filter. В принципе, в своей ценовой категории, объектив неплохо справляется с поставленными задачами по видеосъёмке, а фильтр делает картинку бархатной, удаляя контраст в светах и и солнечные блики на листве и воде. How I Use the Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens
www.learningdslrvideo.com I did a review of this lens a long time ago only after using it for one weekend, now that I have had this lens for over a year I thought I would talk more about how I use this lens. All the footage you just saw was from my family vacation to San Diego was taken with the Canon 28-135mm zoom lens and more importantly it was all shot handheld, just the bare camera and lens no other equipment besides a camera strap. This lens really shines in outdoor use when I and running and gunning, a zoom lens is a must for me, there is no way I can follow my kids while changing out multiple prime lenses, that is just not going to happen. I like to travel light with just one lens in situations like Sea World. My favorite thing about this lens is the IS Image Stabilization. I am kind of cheating here because I am using slow motion which makes it look even smoother but it makes me look like a pro even though I am not using any other extra gear. It really doesn't work as well inside, so I try not to use it too much indoors because the lens is not very fast at all compared to a prime. Also over the past year I have compared it to many other lenses I have reviewed (mostly primes) and I can tell you it has always been the least sharpest lens. I don't use it for interviews or low light situations, but it is my go to run and gun outdoor lens. I believe this is the last video I created using my very first Mac laptop ever (yes, I'm having a new one because everything in the Mac is severely damaged), and another thing, this stupid Cybercrime Law in our country will take effect at the day after tomorrow... so I must enjoy ranting and ranting on the next day! Also, since this is the "part 2" of the EF-S 15-85mm lens review, this also includes comparison between the kit lens supplied with the 550D together with the Sigma superzoom lens (the most antique lol).
