Canon 5D Mark II: Medium Light Lens test - EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
In med/low lighting, the lens that came in the 5D kit was not adequate. It is the EF 24-105mm f/4L USM. It has a maximum aperature (min fstop setting) or 4.0. In low light it produced a lot of noise. I have purchased another lens with an fstop of 1.4 It is the EF 50mm f/1.4 USM. It does not have any of the wide angle or zoom feautures of the kit lens, but it is great for indoor portrait and low light situations.

A review on the canon EF 50mm f/1.4 usm lens.... this lens is absolutely stunning & can be dated back up the early 90's... June of 1993 to be exact.... I def recommend this purchase to anyone thats in the market for a prime lens... can be found on amazon for about $389 new, $359 used (4/08/2012) 50mm f/1.4: www.amazon.com the only true negative thing i could say about this lens is its not image stabilized, but the kind of extremely sharp and narrow depth of field you get with this lens doesnt make it a deal breaker.. excellent Low light performance and Full time manuel focus puts this lens in a consumer-professional grade lens... Unboxing vom Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM - Deutsch
Heute habe ich mir bei Foto-Rutten in Barmen das Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 mit Ultraschallmotor gekauft, welches bei einer Kamera mit APS-C Sensor wie ein 80mm wirkt (bei Canon APS-C Kameras, Brennweite mal 1,6 rechnen). Der aktuelle Preis lag bei 329 €. In diesem Video zeige ich auf Deutsch, wie das Objektiv verpackt ist, wie schnell der Autofokus ist und wie später die Bildqualität aussieht. In Zukunft lade ich auch noch weitere Videos hoch, welche ich mit diesem schönen Objektiv gefilmt habe!
