***** [REVIEW BELOW] ***** Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO DG MACRO Lens for Nikon. I got this lens on the 30th of May 2009. In the box: Lens, Lens Hood, Pouch and Manual. Note that the filter was given free-of-charge in the store, so it's already been attached when I unboxed it. Specifications: 550g, magnification of 1:2, HyperSonicMotor, price: US$280 Handling Info: For Normal Use, the Manual Focus barrel does not turn that much. Macro can be used at 200mm-300mm only. The focus barrel fully extends in Macro mode. My REVIEW This lens is great for beginners and those who have a budget capon their lenses. Since the barrel moves physically outwards, you can tell that this is not a really professional and great lens. The pro lens are like 70-200, 24-75 Nikkor Lenses. They have an internal zooming and focusing element while this one doesn't. Also, the minimum aperture of this lens is F4, which is 2 stops above a recommendable fast F2.8 throughout. However, the advantage of this lens against those F2.8lenses is that this lens is light and therefore more mobile. It is also much cheaper than those pro lens which costs at least $1500. The only reason to buy this lens is that you are a kid, which is me, who depends on your parent's money to buy things, hence you do not dare waste too much money in case something goes wrong. This is a right point, because whe you grow up you can use your own money to buy the better 70-200mm lens. That means, if you are adult reading this, you should have ...

artoftheimage.blogspot.com - Another exciting day here at Art of the Image as I get to un-box yet another new lens! Meet my new Sigma 120-400mm f4.5-5.6 APO DG OS for my Canon 60D and 550D T2i. From all reports, this lens holds it's own against the Canon L zoom and even the L telephoto primes like the 300mm, so I'm REALLY excited to try this baby out with my 60D and 550D.

UNBOXING: www.youtube.com More on: sigma70-200-os.blogspot.com Some random footage, sample video images with the new Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM lens, Canon mount. Shot mostly at f2.8 - except the opening street shot; iso 100-1250, on a 5D2. The orchestra shots are handheld (OS on) and the rest on a tripod (OS off). I kept the original audio so you can hear camera operation sounds and the optical stabilizer buzzing (actually pretty quiet). Also I have inserted the flower shots so you can see the shape of the bohek. I think the lens works very well for video because of the large aperture, the zoom range and the extremely usefull OS. The downside is that the lens is a bit heavy and the focus ring is kind of stiff, but I got used to it pretty fast.

This was my second time to Kuala Lumpur Bird Park this year and with shooting video in mind. All videos were taken with Canon 7D and Sigma 100-300 F4 + Sigma 1.4x extender. All videos were fixed in focal length and static as i find any slight movement will cause heavy shake in the video especially at 420mm (probably need to upgrade my cheap tripod).
