The Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 EX DC OS HSM beats the Canon 17-55mm f2.8 IS USM on the DXOMark Lens Test! It's actually no surprise to me as I've owned and shot both lenses, and the Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 OS is the better lens. Besides the fact that the Canon 17-55mm f2.8 IS has serious quality control issues and the IS motor may crap out on you, the Sigma 17-50mm just walks all over it. Here's the link to the test results on DXOMark http

Some photographs i took with my new Sigma 17-50 f2.8 lens. Zoomed up to +- 105 % to give you a close look at how sharp all the details are. Remember these photos have been compressed three times before you view them; once when converting RAW to JPEG, once rendering an .MP4 (H264) video with...

Sample video Canon 60D + SIGMA AF 17-50 f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM lens 1280x720 50 fps
Shot these clips right after purchasing the lens, still getting used to the focussing ring, some shots might appear more soft-focussed than the should be with this lens.. Made a short impression of Amsterdam of the clips i had, edited with Premiere and After Effects, done color correction with Magic Bullet. Footage has been converted from 1920x1080p 30fps to 1280x720 24fps. experienced with motion tracking for some titles in the film.. Im very impressed with this lens, very very sharp and the OS system works very well! If you enjoyed this video, please subscribe!

In this video i compiled some shots i made with my Canon 600D with Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 lens in the park, and had a go at color correction using Grad Exposure to get a different exposure on skies than on the foreground.. Made it easy for you to compare the original 'straight-outta-camera'...
