After a couple of weeks without a Battle of the Bokeh, we're back with some more bokehlicious action. In this episode, we're comparing the bokeh quality of the recently reviewed Sigma 85mm f/1.4 (www.youtube.com which we thought was quite decent for the money with a Nikon 85mm f/1.4 D, a true classic portrait lens. The Nikkor lens is now superseded by something more modern but it still holds its own and at a decent price. Which one has the better bokeh? Hello, Today I am going to be reviewing the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 Telephoto lens. As mentioned this lens is the Nikon Mount. Over-all I am extremely happy with this lens! It's performs amazing for it's price. It's has a lot more uses than just being a 70-200mm lens. The Macro is ok, gets the job done. And this lens does great for portraits, sports, and even landscape. It's pretty sharp throughout the entire zoom range and no part of the lens moves while zooming, the front nor rear element moves. The mount is 77mm. The lens weighs about 3 pounds so a tripod/monopod is probably wanted. The lens cost about $800. You will be very happy with this lens. Very happy. B&H Photo Video Link; bit.ly Music- Grafix- One Condition All photo's taken by myself using a Nikon D60 and D300 with the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 attached. *Just to note, this lens does not have any type of image stabilization on it. Which is a huge deal-breaker because of the f/2.8 aperture on it. Thanks, chargerfun34
Sigma has released their latest fast-apertured prime in the form of an 85mm f/1.4, a popular focal length for portrait photographers. With Nikon and Canon's offerings costing a considerable amount more, does the Sigma offer up enough quality to be a good enough alternative to the big brands' lenses? Is it sharp? What's the bokeh like? Find out in this video. A short review and test of the Sigma 24-70mm lens for the A or Sony Alpha mount.
I've had my Sigma 24-70 for just over a year. I never used it much, only really in past five or so months. A couple of months back i found the focus ring to freeze in manual mode. It wouldn't budge and I was afraid of breaking it further if I forced it. So I realised it was still under warranty sp took it back to jessops, who then promptly shipped it off to Sigma in Welwyn. It came back a 4-6 weeks later. So as you do, I put in on my body and tested it, still the same fault. Now that's twice that staff at Jessops have witnessed the fault. The invoice stated they repaired IF mechanism; Jessops sent it back to Sigma a second time. I went to pick it up today and it , this time the invoice said there were no faults detected, but it seemed fine so i took it home. I was just about to take a photo and guess what happened?! Yes that's right, it's freezing again! This time I thought I'd video it just to prove there is a fault!
Surprisingly, this Sigma normal zoom outperforms the Canon equivalent, which costs more than twice the price of the Sigma. In this video, you will learn about all the pros and cons of this lens, and make up your decision if you would also like one! In this video, we are going to show you how the lens handles, and some first impressions of the lens. ---- If you like our videos, please support us by subscribing! Two FLD glass elements, which have the performance equal to fluorite glass have also been added along with three SLD glass elements, all which provide excellent correction of color aberration. In spite of the additions of all of these features, Sigma has managed to make the lens more compact than its predecessor, measuring only 7.8" in length. For any serious photographer where the 70-200mm focal range is often the most important second lens to own after the initial standards lens or mid range zooms. The fast aperture is extremely useful and important in low light environments or when shooting fast moving situations where a higher shutter speed demands maximum lights thru the lens. HSM ensures quiet and high speed AF as well as full-time manual focus capability. Super Multi-Layer lens coating reduces flare ghosting and assures high image quality throughout the entire zoom range. It has a minimum focusing distance of 55.1 inches throughout the entire zoom range and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:8 ...
