For the season 2 premiere, the DRTV team gets a suitcase full of UK pounds for the budget of the new season of DRTV shows. Hello, Today I am going to be reviewing the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 Telephoto lens. As mentioned this lens is the Nikon Mount. Over-all I am extremely happy with this lens! It's performs amazing for it's price. It's has a lot more uses than just being a 70-200mm lens. The Macro is ok, gets the job done. And this lens does great for portraits, sports, and even landscape. It's pretty sharp throughout the entire zoom range and no part of the lens moves while zooming, the front nor rear element moves. The mount is 77mm. The lens weighs about 3 pounds so a tripod/monopod is probably wanted. The lens cost about $800. You will be very happy with this lens. Very happy. B&H Photo Video Link; bit.ly Music- Grafix- One Condition All photo's taken by myself using a Nikon D60 and D300 with the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 attached. *Just to note, this lens does not have any type of image stabilization on it. Which is a huge deal-breaker because of the f/2.8 aperture on it. Thanks, chargerfun34
***** [REVIEW BELOW] ***** Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO DG MACRO Lens for Nikon. I got this lens on the 30th of May 2009. In the box: Lens, Lens Hood, Pouch and Manual. Note that the filter was given free-of-charge in the store, so it's already been attached when I unboxed it. Specifications: 550g, magnification of 1:2, HyperSonicMotor, price: US$280 Handling Info: For Normal Use, the Manual Focus barrel does not turn that much. Macro can be used at 200mm-300mm only. The focus barrel fully extends in Macro mode. My REVIEW This lens is great for beginners and those who have a budget capon their lenses. Since the barrel moves physically outwards, you can tell that this is not a really professional and great lens. The pro lens are like 70-200, 24-75 Nikkor Lenses. They have an internal zooming and focusing element while this one doesn't. Also, the minimum aperture of this lens is F4, which is 2 stops above a recommendable fast F2.8 throughout. However, the advantage of this lens against those F2.8lenses is that this lens is light and therefore more mobile. It is also much cheaper than those pro lens which costs at least $1500. The only reason to buy this lens is that you are a kid, which is me, who depends on your parent's money to buy things, hence you do not dare waste too much money in case something goes wrong. This is a right point, because whe you grow up you can use your own money to buy the better 70-200mm lens. That means, if you are adult reading this, you should have ...

Just a quick demonstration of the Tamron AF 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD macro 1:2. Most people on the internet complain about a slow and loud AF motor. Thus, I decided to give it a spin ;) The lens is attached to a canon 350D body.

I discovered this modification by accident in 2008 when I want to clean my Sigma 70-300. To disassemble Sigma is slightly more complex but the idea is similar. I discovered that the lens is capable of using macro mode at all focal range, and the manufacture hide this feature by adding a macro button. I am going to show you how to modify this lens. By removing the stopper mechanism, the macro button allows you to turn the focus barrel to 0.95m even when you are at 70mm focal range. I had done such modifications on the following lenses: Sigma 70-300mm Macro II red ring - canon mount (own) Sigma 70-300mm Macro I gold ring - nikon mount (other's) Sigma 70-300mm Macro II red ring - nikon mount (friend's) Tamron 70-300mm Macro - canon mount (hall's) AF will be fully functional! However I do not hold responsibility for any damage that might occur by following the information posted here. Dismantle your lens at your own risk! Thanks to NUS Eusoff Hall media wing Eusoffworks for supplying this lens. Some sample pictures: www.facebook.com I got to search for the EXIF to see which are the shots taken at 70mm with macro. The lens itself produces surprisingly sharp images for the price - very good value. The autofocus, however is a bit ropey. Mid distance, 4m or so is poorly focussed, and needs to be done manually. The close and distant extremes are much better." "Great lens at the price auto focus is a little noisy, but image quality is good.I have had some great shots of birds in my garden."
