This is a lens review for the Nikon 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX Nikkor My flickr: www.flickr.com/photos/darrentam_photography All pictures shot on a Nikon D5000 with the 35mm f/1.8G lens
PLEASE read the description: The SLT A55 is a great camera for video but has limited settings, so to archieve the best look I have to use AEL (Auto Exposure lock),manual white balance and manual focus. with these settings I'm able to adjust the aperture and the camera automatically adjusts the ISO and the shutter speed. In picture mode I select aperture priority and I measure the shutter speed at the lower ISO possible in that condition, then I apply one or more ND filters in front of the lens in order to have a shutter speed between 1/40 and 1/60s. Also i select a custom "Creative Style" with -3 contrast, -2 saturation and -3 sharpness. For better manual focusing I use a thick wire tie to make like a handle on the focus ring. The last portion of the sequence is taken with Auto Focus,:in this mode the aperture is fixed at f/3.5. I used the SteadyShot (sensor stabilization) through all the sequence and it's all handheld. I don't use the SteadyShot only on tripod and only when I need the full APS-C frame ( the stabilizer takes some field of view). The video is edited in Adobe Premiere and the only effects I used are a layer to compensate the vignetting at f1.8, and some sharpening. The music is "Canon in D" by All Star Percussion Ensemble

SONY NEX5 + LA-EA1 + DT 35mm F1.8 recording
A quick test of recording video on the Sony NEX-5 digital camera, using a Nikon 35mm f/1.8 lens on an E-mount adaptor. Focusing is done manually because of the adaptor, but is surprisingly easy thanks to the high-resolution display of the NEX.
Detailed hands-on review of the Sony LA-EA2 adapter with Sony NEX-5N camera and Sony DT 35mm f/1.8 SAM lens: size, AF options, AF speeds, and usage.

Sony A77 + SAL 35mm F1.8 SAM
Unboxing of the Sony DT 35mm f/1.8 SAM for Sony Alpha Crop Sensor Cameras. Mini-Review: This is an affordable lens for those looking for a decent quality prime. The 35mm is effective on a APS-C size sensor as it gives a 52.5mm 35mm-format equivalent. The built quality is very poor, as demonstrated in the video, with a plastic mount and plastic body. The barrel of the lens that extends rattles and shifts / shimmy when in use. This lens has also a built-in SAM (not SSM) motor, so if you have a fast motor body (A77 for example), this lens will only focus at the speed of the SAM Motor in the lens. Despite the poor build quality, this lens gives a shallow depth of field at 1.8 and produces really good images. Although slightly soft at 1.8, it gains sharpness when stopped down. At around $200, this lens is a bargain and an affordable prime for those looking to better their kit lenses. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me or comment below.
It just finished raining and I decided to take some pictures and record a video. I really wanted to take photos of drops on leaves. I recorded at 1080p/24fps with manual focus. This lens isn't really a macro lens and it's 35mm. I had to get really close and I was trying to be really steady :) could have done better.
