(I have several tripods, including a great Gitzo carbon fiber). I bought this to take on travel for work or on vacation. I also bought a Canon SX1IS for the same purpose.I love the monopod. After just returning from a business trip to Holland followed by a vacation in Costa Rica, I've become very comfortable using it and getting great stability. I borrowed the Manfrotto joystick head (model 222 replaced the 3265 which I own) from my tripod and have now ordered a second one so I don't have to swap. Combined with that head I find focusing, framing and stability are easy. It is also lightweight and fast to extend/retract.This product is highly recommended." "I really enjoy using this monopod. The construction quality was perfect except that the rubber handle on top seemed to move more than it should. The slight mobility in the upper portion of the rubber handle has not posed an issue at all and may be as designed, but felt as if that portion should be as firm as the lower portion of the handle. Otherwise the monopod construction is everything you'd expect from Manfrotto and kept my SLR with 300mm lens steady and the quick snap releases made it easy to open quickly."
